The Skanda Shasti Celebrations at Sri Ganesh Mandir mark six days of devotion dedicated to Lord Murugan (Subramanya, Kartikeya, or Skanda). This sacred festival celebrates the victory of Lord Murugan over the demon Soorapadman, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, and inspiring courage, faith, and spiritual renewal.
Join us each evening for abhishekams, devotional recitals, and a grand reenactment of Soorasamharam — the celestial battle between Lord Murugan and Surapadman — culminating in divine grace and celebration.
🕒 Daily Schedule (October 22 – 27)
06:15 PM – Lord Murugan Abhishekam
Participate in the sacred ritual bathing (Abhishekam) of Lord Murugan and invoke His blessings for well-being and success.
06:30 PM – Skanda Shasti Kavacham Recital
Join devotees in the collective chanting of Skanda Shasti Kavacham, invoking divine protection and inner strength.
07:00 PM – Murugan Archana & Harati
Offer prayers and devotion through Archana and Harati to Lord Murugan.
07:30 PM – Sarva Devata Harati & Prasadam
Conclude each evening with a collective Harati to all deities and receive sacred Prasadam.
🌸 Soorasamharam Day – Sunday, October 26, 2025
04:00 PM – Lord Murugan Abhishekam
Begin this sacred evening with Abhishekam, invoking purity and divine blessings.
05:00 PM – Dramatic Enactment of Soorasamharam
Witness the breathtaking dramatization of Lord Murugan’s victory over the demon Surapadman — a symbolic celebration of light conquering darkness.
06:30 PM – Lord Murugan Abhishekam
Participate once more in the divine Abhishekam following the Soorasamharam enactment.
07:00 PM – Palki Parikrama & Thirukalyanam
Celebrate the divine wedding of Lord Murugan with Deivanai and Valli, followed by a grand temple procession (Palki Parikrama).
08:00 PM – Sarva Devata Harati followed by Annadanam
Conclude this auspicious evening with Sarva Devata Harati and partake in Annadanam — the sacred food offering shared with all devotees.
