Facility Rental Guidelines

Rental on a first-come, first-serve basis is determined by when the rental fee and deposit are made. Religious and cultural events receive preference. “You” or “Your” refers to “the renter.”

  1. Rental Hours
    Normal rental hours are from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Access outside these hours should be pre-arranged, and additional charges may apply.

  2. Temple Programs
    You agree that the regular programs of the Temple will proceed without interference and agree to abide by the rules and regulations of SGM for the use of its facilities.

  3. Rental Fees and Deposits
    The full rental fee and deposit are due at the time of booking. The security deposit (i.e., refundable deposit) is separate from the rental fee and will be refunded in full or part after the post-event inspection is completed.

    Cancellation Charges for Rentals:

    • No cancellation fee if canceled more than 30 days from the date of the event.
    • 20% deduction from the full rental fee if canceled between 30 and 15 days from the event date.
    • 60% deduction from the full rental fee if canceled within 5 to 15 days of the event date.
    • 80% deduction from the full rental fee if canceled within 5 days of the event date.
  4. Cancellation Fee Deposit
    The cancellation fees will be deposited to the Temple account as a donation under your name.

  5. Vendors
    No vendors or sale of any articles are allowed without written approval from the Facilities Chair.

  6. External Rentals
    Any outside rental needs (e.g., tents, tables, chairs) must be coordinated and approved by the Temple Facilities Chair. You are responsible for these items.

  7. Cleanup
    You are responsible for removing any materials brought into the facility, including food, supplies, and decorations. You must return all furniture to its proper place and clean any spills. Limited cleaning supplies are available at the temple.

  8. Care of Temple Property
    Temple property must not be damaged. Special care should be taken with kitchen equipment, bathroom fixtures, curtains, and audio-visual equipment. Decorations must not damage the walls or ceiling tiles (e.g., pushpins and cello tape should not damage the walls/paint).

  9. Post-Event Inspection
    A final walk-through with the Facilities Chair must be completed after the event or the next day. If the facility is not properly cleaned or any damage occurs, additional cleaning charges will apply. Any damages or incomplete cleaning will result in deductions from the security deposit as decided by the Facilities Chair.

  10. Kitchen Rental Terms

    • Kitchen and equipment must not be damaged and must be returned in working condition, or additional charges will apply.
    • SGM does not provide any groceries or vegetables.
    • The kitchen is primarily for reheating food. Cooking food in the kitchen will incur additional charges as listed.
    • SGM is not responsible for any injuries occurring to persons using the kitchen during rental hours.
  11. Prohibited Food
    NON-VEGETARIAN FOOD is not allowed in the temple.

  12. Prohibited Substances and Items
    ALCOHOL, SMOKING of any kind, ILLEGAL DRUGS, or HARMFUL WEAPONS are NOT permitted on temple premises or its grounds, including parking lots.
